ANGA - Association of German Cable Operators
ANGA represents the interests of 120 companies related to the German broadband business, among which are Kabel Deutschland, Unitymedia Group, Tele Columbus, Kabel Baden-Württemberg, PrimaCom, NetCologne, EWE TEL, Marienfeld and wilhelm tel. ANGA`s network operators supply more than 18 million households altogether with TV signals. Furthermore, leading system providers, such as Alcatel-Lucent, Siemens, Motorola, Scientific-Atlanta, Kathrein, Teleste, Triax, Astro and Wisi are counted among the association's members.
More than half the German TV households get their TV signals via cable. More and more cable networks also offer interactive services, such as broadband Internet and IP telephony. ANGA has set itself the target to improve the competitive conditions in cable business. The association's work focuses on the reduction of regulatory barriers in media and telecommunications law, the negotiation of copyright framework contracts as well as support for the introduction of new cable technologies and services.
In addition, the association organizes via a subsidiary the leading European Trade Fair for Cable, Broadband and Satellite, ANGA Cable (www.angacable.de). The previous show was attended by 383 exhibitors and 13,600 visitors from 69 countries.
